Speak Out for Military Kids
SOMK is a community service opportunity for military and non-military youth to provide Speakers Bureaus to communicate for youth affected by deployment. In Kansas, SOMK-IT uses interactive theatre and creative arts to help youth learn how to share their experiences and express their thoughts about military issues. Kansas SOMK-IT Tools include the SOMK-IT Handbook for Troupe Members which is for youth, and the SOMK-IT Workbook for Leaders written for adults who are working together to establish and support a local SOMK-IT program.
